FREE Friday Dance 8-10pm! Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Swing!
Come on over to see who is dancing at Cypress Dance! We are having a FREE Friday Night on January-9th 8-10pm, and we plan to have a Free Fri Night on the 1st Fri of every month. We will play a fine mix of Salsa, Swing, Tango, Two-step, Waltz, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Samba, Foxtrot and more! We will have our usual Sat Night Dance on Jan-24th with a workshop before the dance and we will have W.C.Swing/Whip workshop by Michael Stephens on Jan-31st at 8pm, right before our Country Western Dance party! Cypress Tai Chi Dragons Meetup
Meet others interested in Tai Chi practice. I am working on my teaching certification. I have been practicing Tai Chi for 2 years now and have decided to get into teaching because of the wonderful health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong. This group is for the folks in the Cypress/Spring/Tomball/Magnolia areas. I love teaching Tai Chi. In the first lessons we will start with Qigong exercises, deep breathing and stretching. Then we will learn Tai Chi and all of it's basic movements to get the greatest effect from the exercise. Be sure to wear loose fitting workout clothes and tennis shoes.

Lone Star College-CyFair, Bosque Gallery

January 20-February 12, 2009

Kick off the new year with the Bosque Gallery’s Visiting Artist Exhibition Kate Borcherding: Recent Works, set Tuesday, Jan.20 through Thursday, Feb.12. 

This Visiting Artist Exhibition features the work of Houston area artist and Sam Houston State University professor in the media of printmaking and mixed media.

The exhibition includes a gallery talk set at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 followed at 4.30 p.m. with an opening reception. The gallery talk will include a discussion of Borcherding’s work, the SHSU art program and transferring from LSC-CyFair into the SHSU art program as well as other four-year institutions.

The Bosque Gallery is located in the Center for the Arts building on the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
